Parting Thoughts from Our 2025 Interns:

Mariela Cepeda
Astroscale U.S. Internship: Mission Systems Engineering
Studying: Mechanical Engineering at University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez

“I have learned to take into account all aspects of a mission, anything from the operational details to the technical or structural details ... I can definitely see myself applying what I have learnt in my future personal projects and being and being more of an asset than a participant.”

Maegan Cooper
Astroscale U.S. Internship: Project Management
Studying: Master of Business Administration at Western Governors University

“My favorite thing I learned this summer is how new programs are started! I had a really amazing opportunity to help set up foundational documents and be a part of internal and external kick-off meetings.”

Tyler Evans
Astroscale U.S. Internship: Program Engineering
Studying: PhD from the Colorado School of Mines in Electrochemistry and Control Theory

“It is clear to me Astroscale U.S. cares about their employees just as much as the work that goes on here. Everyone is driven and focused, but also they know how to make the workday enjoyable. I have appreciated everyone’s honesty and straightforwardness during my time here.”

Charles Hagen
Astroscale U.S. Internship: Software
Studying: Computer Science

“Astroscale provided not only an engaging and challenging internship, but they also provided me with a direct pathway into the industry with a full-time offer. Astroscale has been and continues to be a fantastic company — as an intern I have felt welcomed, and the experience has been wonderful!”

Madison Larsen
Astroscale U.S. Internship: Marketing
Studying: Marketing at MSU Denver

“I learned a lot this summer! It was an incredible experience to be able to work in the space industry and see how government and policy affect our market strategy, how quickly it can change, and all of the incredible innovation happening every day. I really enjoyed learning how to curate campaign strategy and support business development with a variety of really cool projects.”

Jack Lyon
Astroscale U.S. Internship: ECLPS (Policy)
Studying: Planetary Science and Applied Math at UC Berkeley

“I think this internship will keep me in space and allowed me to meet so many wonderful people who strive to make space a better, more accessible place.”

Jessica Matsen
Astroscale U.S. Internship: Finance and Business Operations
Studying: Accounting at University of Colorado – Boulder

“I think my internship has given me the opportunity to gain skills in many different departments. I think this will support my future career goals by allowing me to explore different areas that I may not have been prepared for.”

Thi-han Nge
Astroscale U.S. Internship: GNC / M&S
Studying: Mechanical Engineering at Florida Atlantic University (graduated)

“Working at Astroscale U.S. has taught me about what to look for in a company, and about what's possible with a highly collaborative team.”

Ella Packard
Astroscale U.S. Internship: Docking Team
Studying: Mechanical Engineering

“I really appreciated the size of Astroscale, as I felt like I directly contributed to the mission I worked on. Sometimes with other internships your work will be dismissed and put in a box and never used again. But Astroscale challenged me to contribute to the mission and the work I did will impact the future of the project. Because of that responsibility and the care, I feel like beyond standard technical skills (getting better at certain software/programs/design), I learned what a future career would expect from me.”

Saul Vera
Astroscale U.S. Internship: Marketing and Communications
Studying: Communication Studies at North Central College

“Projects were hands on, and some were stretch goals. Having a flexible mindset allowed me to pivot between workflows quickly to serve what was most important to the team in that moment ... An aerospace internship (even in MarComms!) is valuable beyond words.”
